Additional Benefits you can purchase - Benefits are available prior and post departure
Specified Items: You can cover items worth more than the item limit specified on payment of an additional amount. Maximum item $6,000. Total all items $15,000. Please ensure you have proof of valuation not more than 12 months old. Valuation form.
Additional Rental Vehicle Insurance Excess: Cover can be increased to $5,000. Additional $20 per $500 unit of cover.
Excess: Consider the $NIL excess option to cover your personal effects and equipment (less depreciation) otherwise you will have to pay $200 for each claim made.
Snow Sports Cover Option: Cover for participating in a snow sports activity can be purchased for an additional premium. (except New Zealand which is covered at no extra charge).

Guidelines
The Certificate of Insurance must be issued prior to the commencement of our trip. Please include the dates for departure from your residence and return to your residence when quoting.
Insurance is not available to travellers outside of Australia
The terms and conditions of the QBE policy are subject to the laws of the Australian state or territory where the Certificate of Insurance is issued. You agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of that state or territory.
The premium payable for your travel insurance depends on a range of factors including your destination. You must select the travel plan based on your destination or the majority of your trip.
The premium payable is per adult. A maximum of 2 adults can be named on a Certificate of Insurance. Accompanying child or children under 25 years are covered at no additional cost
There is no provision to suspend this policy during the period of insurance.
The international travel plan can be purchased up to 24 months in advance if you are aged under 70 years of age and up to 12 months in advance if you are 70 years of age or over.
An excess of $200 applies to each claim unless the Nil Excess Premium is purchased.
Extensions
Available if you are under 70 Years when the original Certificate of Insurance issued, and up to a maximum total duration of 24 months from departure.
Available if you are 70 Years or over when the original Certificate of Insurance issued, and up to the maximum total duration applicable to your age band.
Existing Medical Conditions - including pregnancy (EMC)
QBE Existing Medical Conditions [EMC]: You must tell QBE if you or anyone in your travelling party has a High Risk EMC or requires cover for any other EMC other than those automatically covered. (see PDS for details)
Existing Medical Conditions of a Non Travelling Relative or Business Partner
You may also choose to take out cover to protect you if your trip is cancelled, cut short or disrupted due to an Existing Medical Condition of a non-travelling relative or business partner. Provided they are under 80 years of age you can apply to cover their EMC if their state of health could disrupt your travel plans even though they are not travelling with you. (see PDS for details)
If you do not select this additional benefit there will be no cover if your trip is cancelled, cut short or disrupted as a result of your non-travelling relative's or business partner's existing medical condition. Application for cover is available when quoting online.

MATTERS YOU NEED TO KNOW
Cooling off Period ... If, having purchased a QBE policy, you want to return it, you can do so within 21 days of receiving the Certificate of Insurance and obtain a full refund, provided no claim has been made and your trip has not commenced. The Cooling Off Period does not apply to policy or trip extensions. (Please read the PDS as conditions apply).
